Mo Better Basketball Middle School Girls Showcase Recap (March 22, 2025 – Allentown, PA)

The Mo Better Basketball Middle School Girls Showcase brought together some of the top young talent from the classes of 2029–2031, providing a competitive platform for skill development and evaluation. Held in Allentown, PA, the event featured a mix of individual skill drills and full-court gameplay, allowing players to showcase their abilities in a structured, high-energy environment.

Event Highlights & Structure

The day began with a series of individual skill stations, testing players on ball handling, shooting efficiency (curls, fades, spot-up shooting), one-on-one play, and defensive principles. From there, the action moved into full-court games, where the athletes had a chance to display their in-game decision-making, scoring ability, and overall basketball IQ.

BBALLScouts.com had two scouts in attendance, utilizing the Sports EyeQ evaluation engine to assess player performances and provide data-driven insights on each participant.

Standout Performers

Several players separated themselves with strong performances throughout the showcase:

  • 2030 PG Lilly Ott (Nazareth, PA)– Showed elite court awareness, footwork, and made good reads.

  • 2030 Taylor DeFanti (Emmaus, PA) – Showcased a nice shot and dynamic first step off the bounce.

  • 2030 SG Madison Green (Saucon Valley) – A smooth shooter with deep range and consistent mechanics.

  • 2030 Neva Dinan (Nazareth, PA) – Impressed with her versatility and two-way play, contributing on both ends of the floor.

Notable Observations

There were a few surprises on the court, particularly the shooting ability on display, with multiple players showing range and great form beyond the arc. Guard play stood out, with a couple of athletes delivering high-level assists and reading the game well beyond their years. Perhaps the biggest takeaway was the team-oriented style of play—there was very little "me ball," as most players embraced ball movement, spacing, and playing within the flow of the game.

Notable Attendees

The event was overseen by respected figures in player development and scouting, including:

  • Brandon Lister – Head Trainer, Mo Better Basketball Club

  • Christian Lockhart – Sports EyeQ
